At least 19
people have been killed and 123 injured after a bomb exploded outside a Hindu
shrine (印度教盛地) in central
Bangkok at about 7pm local time.
According to police a bomb made from a pipe
wrapped in cloth exploded at the Erawan shrine (四面佛) in Chidlom (齊隆), an upmarket (高檔) district of
the Thai capital, as it was packed with tourists and locals.
So far the death toll includes 10 Thais,
one Chinese and one Filipino (菲律賓). The
nationality of the other people killed in the attack is not yet clear.
Overburdened hospitals were forced to call
on volunteers to give blood and also for Chinese interpreters as so many of
those hurt in the attack were from that country.
Whether the bomb exploded inside or outside
Erawan shrine is also not yet known. It was first assumed to have been attached
to a motorbike (摩托車) parked
outside, but one agency quoted (引用) a police
official as saying the bomb exploded in the shrine.
Oliver Holmes, the Guardian’s (監護人) south-east
Asia reporter, who is based in Bangkok, was quickly on the scene. He saw dozens
of ambulances (救護車) treating the
injured and police scouring the area with torches (火炬) in case more
bombs had been planted.
No one has claimed responsibility for the
attack. Thai deputy prime minister (副總理) Prawit
Wongsuwon told reporters: “We are not sure if it is politically motivated, but
they aim to harm our economy and we will hunt them down.”
These people are innocent and they should be still alive if the tragedy did not happen. Hoping those people can have nice life next time and their family can walk out the sadness. Besides every country should think how to prevent the terrible incident happen again in order to give people a peaceful life.

回覆刪除This incident was so horrible that I can't image the situation at that time. I can't think why someone can do such things without any guilt. There are so many people, maybe they just want to take a walk, and then,"bomb!", how innocent they are! After watching the news, I hope the victims can get well soon, and pray for the safety of this world.
回覆刪除It is very terrible that maybe there is a bomb near you when you just drink coffee with your friends. After this kjnd of event,people will live under fear. And I think the local government need to make a positive action to deal with this problem.
